On the Fence II
Here are a few photos my father took of the Vampire's tournament.
Here is the Vampire, helping out a teammate.
Here is most of Minnesota Swordplay's High School Men's and Women's epee teams. I'm not entirely certain why the Vampire and his team Captain seem to be trying to pull off their teammate's head. The Captain is a very efficient sort of fellow, so I'm sure that whatever happened to the head, it was for the good of the team.
Here is the Vampire during a bout. All of the action shots came out blurry, but from this you can get the general idea. You'll know that you've got it if your impression of the general idea is "My, the Vampire certainly has big feet!"

Still giggling about the teammate's head...
mrspao has our lovely MW button all finished! :)
His feet do appear awfully big in these pictures.
Chris~ I've taken it, and am not *entirely* certain that I'm not stealing bandwidth with it. I'll post you privately with idiot questions when my brain starts working again - nap time!
Katherine~ *Appear*?!! They *are* awfully big. He already wears the same size as his dad, size 12. They'll get bigger.
Mine are large and very wide, the Vampire's are loooooooong and narrow and long-toed (the prehensile toes are from his paternal grandmother, the big feet are from my dad who wears something like a size 15 shoe).
Big clown feet run in my family. My dad says it's a survival trait of the Irish, keeps us from sinking in the bogs. My dad has always been full of shite...
Great photos, Bren is getting so grownup-looking, and wow, that head-removal shot, reminds me of the game Elf Bowling when the pin removal frame pulls the head off one of the elves.
I'm glad you didn't show the gory shot that surely must have come after that one.
I will not show my son these pics, as he worships Bren and will want to get a real grown-up epee and we'll have a repeat of Yule... ;P
Sis~ Can you believe how long his hair has gotten?
If Em does find out about the epee (or the guns), just remind him that his Hero would be *very* disappointed in him if he actually hurt anyone with a weapon. I'd be more worried about Em if he read the 'Open Mic' entry, since it doesn't reflect well on his Hero's level of Common Sense...
I was actually scanning around the photo a bit, looking for Bren, until I realized that the Johnny Winter-looking guy was HIM! :D
All that sweaty muscle-building at Minnesota Swordplay and I'll have to start calling him Fabio.
But then he'll have to stop learning French and switch to Italian, hmm.:D
Sis~ He's prettier than Johnny Winter and less pretty than Fabio (and far less muscled), but he's working at it - and yes, all that hair is him. As you can imagine, my dad is after him all the time about it... but *he* worships his team Captain and even more, his cousin Sean, who both sport waist-length hair. Unfortunately, his hair isn't as thick as his captains, nor as straight and well-behaved as Sean's, so mostly he just looks Unkempt.
But of course his anime/manga-enthusing *girlfriend* loves it, so I'm guessing that my dad is fighting a losing battle. Hee... :D
